Walk for the Animals

For a “dog-gone” fun time, grab your family—both two legged and four— and walk for the homeless animals on Saturday February 28, 2015 at Bayfront Park at the annual WALK FOR THE ANIMALS.  The event attracts more than 3,000 people and all proceeds go to the animals at the Humane Society of Greater Miami.

You will enjoy a morning filled with fun activities, entertainment, people and doggie contests, a fabulous raffle and yummy snacks for everyone. Not to miss is our latest event addition – the Walk for the Animals Adoption Arenawhere local rescue groups will bring their puppies, kittens, dogs and cats, so loving and permanent homes can be found.

NBC6 meteorologist, Ryan Phillips, will emcee the event for the sixth year. Registration starts at 8:30am and the one mile stroll around the park—with or without a dog—begins at 10am. You can walk as an individual or form a pack.

“Every dollar raised from the Walk goes toward sheltering more than 300 homeless cats and dogs in our care every day. In addition, the funds help support our spay/neuter services, quality adoptions, humane education and pet therapy,” said Laurie Hoffman, Executive Director.
