Blessing of the Animals

Dozens of dogs and cats will gather with their owners on Sunday, October 4th at the Ancient Spanish Monastery for the Blessing of the Animals. The pet blessings culminate activities to celebrate of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The annual celebrations highlight community service animals and feature horses from the county sheriff’s office, the police K-9 dogs, and ‘pet therapy’ dogs who volunteer at local hospitals and nursing homes.

Animals from the Humane Society are also invited for the blessing for those who would like to meet some animals looking for a forever home. The Humane Society of Greater Miami is located six blocks south of the Monastery at 16101 West Dixie Highway in North Miami Beach.
