Sign Up: To get started, simply complete the online application to become a Big Dogs Snuggle More™ foster parent. By signing up, you’re taking the first step toward making a difference for our large, long-time shelter dogs who need a break from shelter life.

Foster Care Match: After receiving your application, our team will review it and match you with a dog that fits your home and lifestyle. Since all our Big Dogs Snuggle More™ dogs are large, long-term residents, they’re in need of a temporary loving home to thrive and show their true personalities outside of the shelter environment.

Bring Them Home: Once you’re matched with a dog, we’ll provide all the necessary supplies you’ll need — including food, bowls, toys, bedding, and a crate — along with an “Adopt Me” harness to help potential adopters spot your foster dog. You’ll be asked to provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for your foster dog for 1-3 months. This time helps us learn more about the dog’s behavior, giving us valuable insights into how they react in a home setting.

Day-to-Day Care: As a foster parent, you’ll spend quality time with your dog, giving them the attention and care they need. We encourage you to take your foster dog to dog-friendly locations like parks, cafes, or adoption events. This will not only help your dog become more social and adaptable but also gives potential adopters the chance to meet them!
