Calling All Young Professionals!     PetNet

The Humane Society of Greater Miami/Adopt-A-Pet is excited to announce the formation of PetNet, a new volunteer group for young-at-heart professionals who would like to "party with a purpose" to help homeless pets. PetNet meets each month at different Miami hot spots for yappy hours, mixers and themed get-togethers to benefit the Humane Society.

"PetNet is great way to get out there and meet other young professionals" says PetNet founder and Chairman Jason Alderman, "It offers a unique opportunity for animal lovers to get together in a social setting and raise money for a good cause." As an avid animal lover and community activist, Alderman founded PetNet with the knowledge that there are countless young professionals in Miami from a variety of backgrounds that are interested in finding ways to give back to their community, both as individuals and from a corporate standpoint. "I'm very fortunate that the law firm I work for, Carlton Fields, is very devoted to community involvement and charities" says Alderman "I'm sure there are lots of other businesses in Miami that encourage their employees to get out there and make a difference and PetNet is a fun, relaxing way to get involved."

PetNet's inaugural event was held on August 24th at Ola Steak and Tapas Muddle Bar in the Village of Merrick Park. About 75 animal lovers and 30 dogs joined in on the fun at the "yappy hour" which raised more than $1000 for the Humane Society!

If you are looking for a fun way to unwind and to meet other young professionals who share your commitment to helping homeless animals, please email Laurie Hoffman at laurie@humanesocietymiami.org for information about joining PetNet!
