The
goal of the Humane Society of Greater Miami/Adopt-A-Pet's
adoption program is to find a loving, permanent home for each
animal in our care. Adopting a pet is a big committment! Are
you sure you're ready to:
Keep
and care for the pet for his or her entire life
(which could last 15 years!) |
Take
the pet with you each time you move to a new home |
Train
the pet |
Make
the pet a member of your family |
Be
financially responsible for the pet, in sickness
and in health |
If
you are certain that you are willing and able to devote yourself
to providing a loving, permanent home for one of our furry
friends, please get your whole family together and visit one
of our adoption centers.
Take your time and visit with several of our pets. If you
have found yourself completely in love with one of the pets,
an adoption counselor will help you complete an adoption application.
Please keep in mind that the verification of information provided
within the adoption application may take more than one working
day.
When
you meet with your adoption counselor, you will be asked to
provide:
Proof
of current vaccinations and licensing of the other pets in your
household, a copy of one of your utility bills, vehicle registration,
or voters registration, and written consent from the other adults
in the household (or better yet - bring them with you!), AND
If
you are a renter, a copy of your lease including the name and
address of the landlord, or written consent from your landlord
if the pet policy is not included in the lease OR
If
you are a homeowner, a copy of your mortgage or a homeowner's
insurance statement. |
