Our Thank you’s

There are so many people supporting our organization and enabling us to care for more than 400 abandoned and homeless animals daily. We are so grateful and proud to be part of such a wonderful community. Please meet some of those very special shining stars of September 2014:

Worldwide PropertiesOn the morning of Saturday, September 27th, Worldwide Properties held the second annual Bark in the Park event at Washington Park in Miami Beach, a fundraiser and an adoption event to benefit the Humane Society of Greater Miami. We had a wonderful adoption at the event and we raised close to $1,000 through donations and silent auction prizes from local establishments.

Wells Fargo office – Downtown Miami

Each year in the month of September, Wells Fargo offices across the U.S. participate in a fundraising campaign for a non for profit of their choice.  In addition each office selects a non for profit to raise funds and make a donation.  This year the office of Wells Fargo in Downtown Miami has selected The Humane Society of Greater Miami. “Team members were encouraged to donate and/or volunteer.,” said Alicia Gonzales, Project Coordinator – GFI Americas International Global Financial Institutions. “To engage the office we hold luncheons and plan activities for our team members.” Wells Fargo office raised a total of $1,120 in funds and a box full of food, treats, toys and beds for the animals. Kudos to this wonderful team!

Paladar donation program

Giving is good. But giving and getting free guac? That’s even better. For four weeks, from September 8th through October 5th, people had the opportunity to help out the Humane Society of Greater Miami and eat well at Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar at The Village at Gulfstream Park. Paladar invited guests to donate $25 to the Humane Society of Greater Miami. To thank them, the restaurant will mail them a $25 Paladar voucher. The Humane Society of Greater Miami is thrilled to announce that we have raised $830 through this program.

“It’s really important to us to support the community that supports us. This is a fun way for us to highlight a handful of great organizations and help them boost their donations.” said Jaime Desamero, general manager at Paladar. Last year, Paladar raised over $13,000 total for the selected charities – this year they hope to exceed $20,000.

 Shining stars of October 2014:

Students of Carrolton School of the Sacred Heart

There is nothing more inspiring than seeing our young generations at work. Our heartfelt thank you to the students and teachers of the second, third and forth grade at the Carrolton School of the Sacred Heart in Coconut Grove for their amazing hard work in gathering all these wonderful donations for our organization. It was an overwhelming joy displaying all the toys, beds, threats and food the students have collected for our animals! Kudos to the young generations!
