Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet
Purina Walk for the Animals 2008


Walkers came from far and wide to show their support at Bayfront Park!

Animal lovers and their dogs turned out for the Humane Society of Greater Miami and Adopt-A-Pet's annual
Walk for the Animals on February 23, 2008 at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami.

What a fun event this was! Whether you chose to watch exciting canine demonstrations or expand your creativity in the interactive kid's area which featured arts and crafts, games, a bounce house, and face painting or letting your dog try a fun agility course, this was a true family event where everyone got to enjoy themselves,
specially the four-legged!

National and local companies turned out to support the event, including Purina as the Walk's title sponsor, and Ryder System, Inc., Comcast, Cafe Pilon, Pet Supermarket, Petco, Costco, Franktitude, Universoty of Miami, Pet King, The Florida Marlins, Camp BowWow, PetStyle, Zephyrhills, Pet Point and The Bank of New York Mellon. Media sponsors included: NBC 6, 101.5 LITE FM and The Miami Herald/el Nuevo Herald.

A Fabulous Night Indeed!

Miami's top dogs strutted Jungle Island for the Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet's third annual "Pawpurrazzi" during an incomparable evening of food, fashion and entertainment. This year's event delivered an all-star line-up with Donna Shalala as Honorary Chairperson, Rene Ruiz, Alan Randolph and Martin Krediet as Chairpersons, and a menu created just for the occasion by Food Network's Ingrid Hoffmann.

Emcee Lisa Petrillo of CBS4, entertained the audience including Star Jones, TV star Judge David Young of Judge David, Tova Leidesdorf, Don Soffer, Gail Posner, D.J. and Steven Kerr, Alan Rubin, Pat and Milton Wallace, Jennifer and Richard Postrel, Cindy McCall-Talbert and Bill Talbert, Rusty Atlas, Linda McEnany, Odessa and Dante Fiorini, Fanny and Karla Dascal, Linda Cooper and Jeanette and Ted Fine to name a few. Ingrid Hoffmann made a special appearance to autograph her new book with 20% of the evening's book sale proceeds benefiting the Humane Society of Greater Miami. Guests grabbed front row seats to the two- and four-legged runway show featuring Lisa Pliner, Virginia Jacko, Ellen and Oscar Feldenkreis, Mr. Miami Beach Michael Aller, Lola Jacobson, Helene Kovens, Deborah DiMare and Sir Ivan (Wilzig) with their adorable pups in tow.
