The Humane Society of Greater Miami has been helping homeless animals in Miami-Dade County since 1936. With the support of local people and corporations, we are helping to create a better community for all. As a private, not-for-profit, charitable animal welfare organization, we rely on the community to help us fulfill our mission of finding a loving home for the dogs and cats in our care and promoting responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter programs.
We are a limited admit, adoption guarantee facility. Adoption guarantee means that every animal under our care is safe from the threat of euthanasia for as long as it takes to find them a forever family.

Workplace Giving – Through monthly automatic payroll deductions, your employees can make a donation to our humane society through the comfort and ease of an established program. Donations made through the United Way and the Combined Federal Campaign qualify for a tax deduction as permitted by law.

Goods and services are always welcome and are essential to our everyday operation and fundraising programs. Here is a list of some of the most needed in-kind donations:
- Electronics: computers, cameras, printers
- Supplies for cats and dogs: pet toys, pet beds, crates, scratching posts
- Items for silent auctions at our fundraisers: gift certificates, cruises, hotel stays, art, tickets to sporting games or cultural events
- Organize your own fundraising event and donate the proceeds
- Choose an item from our shelter WISH LIST: newspapers, bleach, laundry detergent, and quality dog and cat toys.

We have many volunteer opportunities which include: dog walking and socializing, cat socializing, toy sorting and distributing, grooming, off-site adoption events, local fundraisers to name a few. Please consider giving your time to help the animals.
