Humane Society of Greater Miami The Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet is a limited admit, adoption guarantee facility dedicated to placing every dog and cat in our care into a loving home, and to promoting responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter programs. Adoption guarantee simply means that every animal under our care is safe from the threat of euthanasia for as long as it takes to find them a forever family. We are not government funded and rely on our community for financial support.
Miami Dade Animal Services in October, 2005, the Miami-Dade Animal Services Department (ASD) was created as a stand-alone entity in an effort to provide focused care for the County's animal population. By becoming an independent entity, the Animal Services Department was able to concentrate its resources on its core mission of caring for the animals in its custody. Each year the shelter impounds approximately 36,000dogs and cats. Its goal is to reunite lost pets with their owners and find life-long homes for as many animals as possible as well as providing proper care for them while they're at the shelter.
The Cat Network, Inc. (CN) is a Florida 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation dedicated to humanely reducing cat overpopulation by educating the public about the need to sterilize their pets and strays; providing access to low-cost spay/neuter services for stray, homeless and abandoned cats; helping members in their efforts to place adoptable cats in loving homes; and advocating non-lethal population control and humane public policy. The Cat Network was established in June 1995, and its members have since helped sterilize over 70,000 free roaming, community cats using low-cost spay neuter certificates, and placing over 8,000 cats in loving homes.
